I. Job Objective
To maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of all public and back of the house areas as per the hotel standard.
II. Duties and Responsibilities
1. To ensure that all public and back of the house areas are cleaned and maintained daily as per the schedule and timings of cleaning.
2. To ensure that public areas restrooms are maintained and supplied on time
3. To do the general cleaning of all areas specified as per the schedule.
4. To ensure that all Food and Beverages restaurants are cleaned as per schedule and before the opening time.
5. To ensure that all standing ash urns in the public areas are emptied and polish and clean condition.
6. To ensure that the wall glasses are free from hand marks and smudges
7. To ensure that all carpeted areas are spotless and properly vacuumed and clean all the time.
8. Dust and polish all woodwork and art work areas and other wooden furniture.
9. To ensure that all offices are cleaned after office hours, pick up as required.
10. To ensure that all back of the house areas like parking, back offices are cleaned daily and free of litters.
11. To ensure that all staircases from top floor to the basement area are mop and sweep daily.
12. To ensure that both male and female changing rooms/locker rooms and toilets for the associates are cleaned and pick-up on time.
13. To report any sign of infestation noticed in all public areas and other areas to the immediate supervisor.
14. To follow lost and found procedures.
15. To sign out any keys taken from the department or from other departments.
16. To attend in any training and communication meetings conducted by the hotel.
17. To assist in any guest queries.
18. To familiarize all the promotions and happenings in the hotel in order to give proper answers to guests inquiries.
19. To act accordingly to the complaint handling standards and procedures.
20. To report as per quota, clean and tidy, wearing the proper uniforms and name badge and to ensure that the attendance records is signed both at the beginning and end of the shift.
21. To train and develop proper communication guidance and motivate colleagues.
22. To attend departmental meetings and training sessions and to operate in line with the instructions received.
23. To be responsible for a clean and tidy working area
24. To ensure that cleaning supplies are properly used to curtail expenses.
25. To ensure energy and water savings
26. To have more knowledge on the usage of the equipment.
27. To suggest ways and means to save cost without affecting the quality of service.
28. To be aware and conscious about cleaning supplies expense budget
29. To use the cleaning chemicals correctly
30. To report any defects of the equipment to the supervisor or the engineering department.
31. To operate with full knowledge the hotel safety and emergency procedures.
32. To be aware of the customs and traditions of UAE
33. To adhere to the hotel rules and regulations.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. To be aware of any hotel promotions and to give accurate answer to the guests’ inquiries.
2. To keep all areas clean, corridors and staircase should be free from anything that blocks the place.
3. Should observe proper timings for the breaktime.
4. Never leaves the working area without informing the immediate supervisor
5. Not to use any guest toilets and lifts.
6. Not to smoke in any other areas except in the staff cafeteria.
7. Not to take out anything from the hotel without proper gate pass from the department head.
8. Not to search through guest belongings.
9. Social visits to other areas of the hotel during on/off duty hours is not allowed.
10. Never open the guestroom to any unknown person who claims to have forgotten or lost keys. Direct them to the reception if any.
11. Never leaves your key to anyone. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY if it gets lost.
12. Report any unusual behavior/activities on the floor or any areas in the hotel to the supervisor or to the security.
III. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education
High school or equivalent education required.
Experience
• With good communication skills, good inter-personal skills,
• Pleasant appearance.
• Attentive to details.
