Department
The Reservations department is responsible for identifying guest needs, assisting guests in effective & efficient manner, converting business, maximizing revenue, ensuring complete and accurate update of information in compliance with company policy and strategy. The reservations department is the heart of Mina Seyahi Complex, it is the first guest contact point, sets guest’s expectation, adds value to the guest booking & stay experience. It is critical to the overall success of our individual hotels.
Job Description
Your job responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following: * Responsible for the Reservations Team being fully compliant with the Starwood Core Reservation Standards - Monitor results and take appropriate constructive action * Responsible for all departments that may take reservation calls and make bookings, create profiles, make a group block etc to adhere to Divisional, IPS and local standards, including Reservations, Front Office and the Sales/Events Department * Work closely with the Sales Team to ensure correct rate availability for contracted customers * Monitor Group Reservations to ensure standards are met, data is inputted according to standards, conversion of group bookings is handled with a focus on revenue management, and rooming lists are entered in a timely and accurate manner * Maintain and ensure the accuracy of reservations * Pay attention to the details, setting the example for staff to deliver a standard of service and presentation that meets guests' needs and expectations * Ensure audits are maintained and completed * Working Knowledge of current and future selling status, including all rates and packages * Promote up selling and cross selling * Responsible for all training and development in Reservations Department * Liaise daily with the Revenue Management leader and Sales & Marketing leader regarding business on the books and the strategy for the day * Maintain a good relationship with Starwood Customer Contact Centre and MARS Managers * Convey customer feedback to assist the Revenue Management and Sales Teams in pricing and sales strategies
Requirements
* Sales-driven mentality and be capable of keeping and updating inventories * Good teamwork skills and the ability to delegate work activities * Able to take a customer focused decision, whilst remaining cognizant of all sales and revenue management principles * Possess a good awareness of industry standards within the hotel business, and ensure these standards are communicated to the team and consistently upheld * Be detailed orientated and take pride in transferring this focus on details to their work in the PMS and all guest correspondence * Strong leadership, business and people management skills * Training, Couching & counseling skills * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and a strong command of English in both * Learn new technology with ease * Experience in a managerial role in reservations department in a similar multi-property setting * Starwood background in reservations and knowledge of Starwood reservations & revenue tools is a plus
