Responsibilities
Position Purpose
Assist the Chief Engineer to maintain the engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel in order to ensure a high standard of building, machinery, plant, furniture, fixture and equipment in all the departments. Achieve total guest satisfaction and organizational profitability through effective utilization of all resources.
Key Responsibilities
Managerial
-Implement systems and procedures that ensure safety of guest, employees, plant, machinery and property.
-Staffing and Scheduling of the department and allocation of duties
-Develop systems and procedures that achieve higher cost efficiency and guest satisfaction.
-Facilitate learning and development for all the team members of the department
-Performance Appraisal/ Management of the staff in the department.
Operational
-Implement the preventive maintenance plan, TPM and upkeep of engineering services, with proper documentation.
-Implement up gradation/ renovation / replacement, for facilities and equipment
-Execute the energy conservation programs monitor HLP consumption on a daily basis.
-Ensure that all the engineering & maintenance activities/systems adhere to the standards/efficiency/productivity levels that have been set for the unit
-Recommend value addition to existing systems and procedures
-Responsible for maintaining all engineering related equipment in proper and efficient operating condition.
-Maintain the fire safety system in the hotel.
-Maintain the building structure and upkeep of the aesthetics and décor
-Responsible for achieving tangibility of maintenance activities, timely completion of job orders and prompt resolving of guest complaints.
-Assist the Chief Engineer by coordinating with Executive Housekeeper, Front Office Manager and other HOD’s on preventive maintenance of rooms and other repair work.
-Ensure timely receiving of material & spares as per the standardized specifications, by coordinating with purchase department and by maintaining a preferred vendor list.
-Ensure that the government regulations for boilers, electrical installation and environment are strictly followed.
-Keep informed of industry innovations and advances in technical and property management fields, and impart training to all engineering staff.
