Overview
A luxury 5 star hotel in Dubai, is looking for a dynamic sales professional to join their growing, motivated team as a Director of Government Sales.

UAE Nationals preferred for this position.

PURPOSE

Under the general guidance and supervision of the Director of Business Development and in keeping with the delegation of authority, has specific responsibilities for identifying, establishing and maintaining business from the government, municipality, local and international mainly Arabic “niche” business markets which includes rooms, events, meetings, serviced furnished apartments, food & beverage outlets, health club, etc.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Marketing Planning
Participate as requested in the development and execution of the hotel sales plan:
a. Identify sources of business for the hotel and establish solicitation programs to maximize sales.
b. Help identify sources of individual business and obtain the resources to develop relationships with them.
c. Establish and maintain accurate account information and ensure this information is kept up to date.
d. Maintain accurate forecasting for all segments and identify valley periods for sales emphasis.

2. Sales Administration
a. Establish programs and direct efforts to achieve group and FIT room night goals and to develop ongoing relationships with customers.
b. Monitor personal sales production and adjust sales activities, account coverage and sales priorities as necessary to achieve plan goals.
c. Establish and obtain approval for travel schedules, budget and monitor travel expenses to optimize sale productivity.
d. Develop active communication and close rapport with all relevant government bodies and other sources of sales information and support.

c. Take full responsibility for representing and managing the Monarch Hotel Account Management System
d. Prepare, in a timely manner, all relevant required reports, Sales Activity Planned and Actual forms and Expense Reports.

3. Selling
Manage Key Accounts:
a. Establish personal sales goals, and be responsible for a representative selection of key accounts.

4. Inventory Management
a. In conjunction with the DBD and other department heads, maximize rooms inventory and catering space, identify opportunities for focused sales programs.
b. Coordinate group room forecasts and prospects with the events management and reservations department so as to help hotel achieve maximum capacity room use.
c. Assess margin contribution of group business to maximize contribution from available public space.

5. Communications
Develop and maintain effective communication channels:
a. Maintain close, frequent, open communication with the Director of Sales, Director of Events and other department heads.
b. Coordinate communication between Sales Department and operating departments of the hotel. Update operating departments of the hotel to ensure awareness of bookings and sales programs,
c. Maintain timely and responsive communication with accounts and prospects.
d. Attend and contribute to regular scheduled Department Meetings and other meetings scheduled from time to time.
