Benno Geruschkat appointed Area Director for Egypt and Jordan by Hyatt Hotels

Benno Geruschkat has been appointed Area Director, overlooking the three hotels in Egypt and the hotel in Amman, Jordan, effective February 1, 2010. In addition to this role, he will continue in his current position as General Manager of Grand Hyatt Amman.

Benno joined Hyatt in 1988 in an apprenticeship at Hyatt Regency Cologne. During this period, he had the opportunity to be exposed to various Hyatt operations in Montreux, Casablanca, Macau and Paris. After his apprenticeship, he decided to continue his studies and graduated in 1995 from the International School of Hotel Management in Dortmund, Germany, in conjunction with the European Business School in London, and Cornell University. Benno also obtained a MBA via distance learning in 2005 from the Open University. Upon graduation, Benno embarked in a career in Food and Beverage with Maritim Hotels in Germany and held several senior management positions leading him to the responsibility of General Manager. He simultaneously had teaching responsibilities at the Hotel School in Fulda, Germany.

In April 2001, Benno returned to Hyatt as the General Manager of Hyatt Regency Mainz and was subsequently transferred in August 2007 to his present position as General Manager of Grand Hyatt Amman.
