Emirates Culinary Guild sends team to FHAM 2024 Global Culinary Challenge 23rd - 25th of September 2024 at Dharubaaruge, Male, Maldives
The Emirates Culinary Guild would like to announce that a team of young chefs and senior chefs will represent the United Arab Emirates under the Emirates Culinary Guilds banner at this years Food Hotel Maldives.
These competitions are so important for preparing our culinary teams for international comparison and also gives them a great opportunity to perform on the international culinary stage.
Guild President Andy Cuthbert, General Manager of Jumeirah Creekside Hotel ,and Madinat Jumeirah Conference & Incentives and Jumeirah Hospitality, added “ this year’s competition in Maldives is the 3rd time we take a team and we are proud of the young chefs, we were lucky to again have our great competition partner Sounbula Mills support the chefs through sponsorship. President Cuthbert also thanked Mr. Karim Al Azhari, from Sounbula Mills for their unbelievable sponsorship support to the Guild and the Chefs. Managing director Mr. Karim Al Azhari said ”it is with such pride that I am able to help these chefs show off their skills to the world and I am proud that as an Emirates based company we are able to help them to realize their dreams and perform at the highest level.
The team is made up of young and senior chefs from our Abu Dhabi chefs led by Guild Asst Vice President Chef Peter De Kauwe from the Club Abu Dhabi, Chef Sanjeewa Chamil our Chairman of Abu Dhabi & District, the senior chefs lead the chefs team of:

The chefs will compete in a series of Hot cooking and static display classes and we thank their chefs and hotels management for the support to the team. About the Emirates Culinary Guild
The Emirates Culinary Guild (ECG) (www.emiratesculinaryguild.net) is the association of professional chefs of the UAE. It is a non-profit-making organisation, organised by volunteers dedicated solely to the advancement of culinary art in the UAE.
The World Association of Chefs Societies (Worldchefs) (www.worldchefs.org) is the 105-nation fellowship of the world's various professional chefs' organizations.
The ECG received its charter into Worldchefs at a ceremony in Stavanger, Norway on June 28, 1994, during the Worldchefs 26th World Congress. Worldchefs endorses the ECG as the authorized professional culinary association for the UAE. The ECG, thereby, has an international culinary focus and multi-national support for the staging of its various competitions, seminars and Events.
The aims of the ECG, broadly, are:

- To enhance internationally the culinary prestige of the UAE.
- To encourage UAE nationals to consider a career within the hospitality industry.
