Seasoned industry veteran takes the helm at leading hotel in downtown Lauderdale
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL September 2021: Located in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale's bustling business district, Hyatt Centric Las Olas announces the appointment of General Manager Joshua Morris, who will oversee operations of the full-service, 238-room property.
Morris is a seasoned hospitality executive, bringing more than 20 years of industry knowledge and experience to the Hyatt Centric Las Olas team. He has managed a variety of Marriott hotels, including Hollywood Beach Marriott and Sheridan Baltimore North. Most recently, he oversaw the renovation of Madison Marriott West in Wisconsin, which transformed the propertys convention center into a state-of- the-art space that welcomes hundreds of visitors each year. As he makes his return to Florida, Morris will oversee daily operations at Hyatt Centric Las Olas, including staff development, budgeting and financial planning, increasing sales and revenue, and ensuring guest satisfaction. As a leader, Morris is dedicated to values of integrity, inclusivity, diversity and respect for others. He is a graduate from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management.
