Oman is a treasure presented by nature for us to explore. Surrounded by crystal clear beaches, canyons, Hajar mountains, wadis and dams, Oman is worth the wanderlust. Some parts are still untouched and inspire nature lovers, translucent cave pools enthrall adventurers. Road trip from Dubai to Muscat, the capital city of Oman is around 500kms. The best access is through Mezyad/ Khatam Al Shaklah Border post in Al Ain. There are new changes at the Hatta border so better to avoid it.
We drove to Jabal Akhdar from Dubai last weekend and then to Muscat through the scenic mountains. We chose Park Inn by Radisson our stay in Muscat. Park Inn, Muscat is located in the business district of Oman. Even though, it is a business district they receive many guests with families. The hotel is very close to shopping malls, restaurants and marketplace.
Location:- Nearby attractions:
- Shopping malls – 1 km
- Al Ghubra Beach – 2 km
- Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque – 4.5 km
- Royal Opera House Muscat – 6 km
- National Museum – 13 km
- Mutrah Souq – 22 km
- Muscat International Airport- 15 km
Rooms:-
Park Inn feels like our home away from home with hardwood floors, area rugs and dramatic wall murals that set the tone for this cozy urban space. The hotel’s incredible beds wrapped in top thread-count linens and cozy duvets are stacked with plenty of pillows. Spacious living room with another TV and sofa cum bed to accommodate an extra person.
Our In-room amenities included 42-inch flat-screen TV, computer table & Alarm Clock, Revolution technology showerhead, Coffeemaker, Dove products in guest washrooms, Complimentary high-speed Internet Wi-Fi
F&B Facilities:-
The restaurant in the lobby serves healthy breakfast with organic and fresh ingredients. The breakfast was included in the room price. The chef has designed a menu around fresh local ingredients with daily specials, so there’s always something new to try for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Spa/Pool:-
The fitness center is on the 6th floor, we also could unwind in the pool on the rooftop, whirlpool, and sauna (open 6am – 10pm). The sunset views from the rooftop are awe-inspiring.
According to the law in Oman, no building is permitted above 8 floors to retain the charm of nature and striking views all around. We had a very comfortable stay at Park Inn by Radisson, the staff is very accommodating and welcoming. We would definitely look forward to coming back again.
P.S. Google Maps don’t work in Oman, there is another App called WAZE. In the world of technology, we all have got so used to working with GPS then it’s hard to find a way. Though, I like the old fashion way of exploring through road signs,
