From Income Auditor to Finance Leader, Muhammed’s transformational journey elevates hospitality finance operations.

Hozpitality Group is proud to announce the inclusion of Hashim Muhammed, Finance Manager at DoubleTree by Hilton Dubai M Square Hotel & Residences, in Hozpitality's Best 30 Finance and Purchase Leaders Powerlist in the Middle East for 2025. Muhammed Hashim began his career on June 10th, 2009, with a clear determination to be a trendsetter in the hospitality industry. His journey started at Hilton Garden Inn Riyadh as an Income Auditor, where he quickly excelled and proactively sought to understand other finance functions, tirelessly driving his own professional growth. Hashim quickly proved to be an invaluable team player, often covering for colleagues during their vacations, which significantly expanded his knowledge of various functions and deepened his understanding of comprehensive hotel finance operations. Leveraging this deep knowledge, he adeptly introduced practical improvements that consistently enhanced his colleagues' performances.
These diligent efforts swiftly led to his promotion to Chief Accountant within just three years, and an impressive six months later, he was promoted again to Assistant Finance Manager. In these roles, Hashim implemented numerous impactful practices within the Finance department, which notably reduced working hours for the entire team while simultaneously boosting overall productivity.
Currently, in his role as Finance Manager, Hashim actively mentors’ interns in the Finance department. He is deeply motivated to guide a young finance team, firmly believing in the creative collaboration and fresh perspectives that new talent brings to complex hotel operations.
Hashim's recent achievements are truly remarkable and speak volumes about his leadership. He initiated rigorous cost management activities in 2024 and 2025, resulting in a phenomenal 100% GOP (Gross Operating Profit) conversion in 2024, with the same impressive trend continuing into 2025. He also managed to achieve an outstanding 149% GOP Index in 2024 and 151.5% May YTD 2025. Additionally, he has provided crucial support to the operations team in reaching ambitious sustainability and energy optimization goals and successfully implemented best practices for internal control. Hashim also played a pivotal role in supporting the Shared Service Center for the successful conversion of month-end functions from the hotel to the SSC.
Today, Hashim efficiently manages hotel finance with remarkable agility, receiving shared service support for AP, AR, and payroll functions, and overseeing operations with just three dedicated team members, including two interns, all without any risk to day-to-day operations. His profound involvement in both commercial and operational departments is noteworthy, as he consistently embodies and implements Hilton's core values of Hospitality, Integrity, Leadership, Teamwork, Ownership, and Now in his daily actions. By truly acting as a Business Partner in hotel operations, rather than merely focusing on cost control, Hashim has continually led to improved operational excellence. Reflecting on his impressive career path, Hashim can proudly state that he has trained more than 30 team members, many of whom now hold well-deserved and impactful positions within the industry.
