Award-winning hotelier will help introduce a new era of luxury, wellness and sustainable travel on South Caicos Island.

SOUTH CAICOS, Turks & Caicos (August 6, 2025) – Salterra, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa today announced the appointment of John Stanford Hazard as Managing Director. A seasoned leader with a proven track record of excellence across the Caribbean and U.S. hospitality markets, Hazard brings more than two decades of expertise in luxury hotel operations, brand strategy and experiential guest service.
Most recently serving as Managing Director of Grace Bay Club & Private Villa Collection in Turks & Caicos, Hazard was named Hotelier of the Year at the prestigious Star Awards this year, a testament to his unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation and people-first leadership.
“We feel extremely fortunate to welcome John to the Salterra family,” said Michael Tibbets, Founder and CEO of Salterra. “His entrepreneurial spirit, operational discipline and visionary approach to luxury hospitality are exactly what this resort — and this destination — need as we establish Salterra as the new standard for barefoot elegance in Turks & Caicos.”
At Grace Bay Club, Hazard oversaw all aspects of a $65 million operation, leading transformative renovations, a spa rebranding and the opening of new F&B concepts, all while enhancing owner relations and driving record revenue performance. His earlier role as Vice President, Operations and Asset Management, US & Caribbean at L+R Hotels saw him oversee a portfolio consisting of $260 million in annual revenue across the U.S. and the Caribbean. Hazard’s leadership will be instrumental in shaping Salterra’s guest journey, anchoring the resort as a marquee destination within The Luxury Collection and a transformative presence in the Turks & Caicos luxury market.
“I’m honored to join Salterra at such an exciting moment,” said Hazard. “This resort is not just a breathtaking destination. It’s a canvas for storytelling, service and sensory experience. I look forward to working with our incredible team to create something truly unforgettable on South Caicos.”
