I had never been too excited to dine outside since I had always been a fan of home-cook cuisine. But honestly, Kris with a View restaurant is in my bucket list for restaurant that I’d like to visit. Merely because the restaurant is on the 19th floor of Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel wherein I could have an uninterrupted panoramic view of Dubai. I’m also hearing a lot of good reviews about the restaurant. Tonight, had been a truly amazing experience.
Stepping out from the elevator of the 19th floor, we were greeted by the friendly staff who ushered us to our table. Luckily, we came earlier and were able to get a seat by the window while being mesmerized by the beauty of Dubai skyline. Feels like we were dining at the top of Burj Khalifa or a stroll at the top of Dubai Frame. It was such a romantic moment and the whole place itself gives you a cozy ambiance.
An Iftar dinner usually starts with a cup of Arabic coffee or tea. Never mind the two cups of black coffee I had during the day. I can’t resist the aroma of the Arabic coffee that had been brewing. A piece of the finest dates compliments it. Tempted to try the fresh baklava, and other Arabic delicacies, but I had to control my appetite. Of course, there were the classic Arabic beverages like Laban, Jalab and Kamarudeen, a fine range of drink for sophisticated palates.
There were a wide variety of food to choose from: salad, starters, main dish and live cooking stations. Different kebabs and chicken menu.
As a food-lover, I also have my favorites. Fattoush salad will always be generic in my menu. A sumptuous local Ouzi (lamb) menu is a must try. The food on three chafing dishes on one side were few of my favorites: their version of salmon recipe, chicken cordon bleu and the spinach and ricotta cannellone. To top it all, there’s shawarma and the Slow Cook Short Ribs which were literally cooked very tender that it melts in your mouth & the flavor were exceptional.
