Job Description For Laundry Manager for The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection
Position Description:Manages the entire laundry operation onboard the Yacht including pressing, washing and dry-cleaning services for personal and business use. Responsible for the accurate recording of laundry services for guest and Ladies and Gentlemen regardless of revenue, at cost or free of chargePartners proactively with the Housekeeping team to ensure all business-related laundry services are executed and delivered according to the laundry schedule. Reports damages to the Assistant Housekeeper daily (and where necessary with urgency) and posts the loss in the company's inventory systemEnsures any pre-existing damages to guest and employee clothing are addressed with the owner prior providing laundry services by providing this information to the Assistant Housekeeper. Delivers guest and employee clothing that was damaged during the laundry service to the Assistant Housekeeper to resolve the situation and records them in the Guest LogOperates all necessary machinery and equipment provided by the company safely and inspects the equipment for proper functionality daily. Creates maintenance requests for non-functional equipment and any other topics affecting the laundry operationMonitors that maintenance requests for non-functional equipment and any other topics impacting the laundry operation. Ensures these maintenance requests are resolved in an acceptable timeframe and communicates delays to the supervisor and the department head responsible to resolve the problemsEnsures that the chemical dispensers are operated with accurate settings and requests service for those dispensers from 3rd party vendors through the Assistant Housekeeper. Maintains a sufficient inventory level of all consumables and chemicals necessary for the laundry operation. Prepares orders for the Assistant Housekeeper and Hotel Stores Manager to review and approveGuarantees that all machinery is operated within the parameters of international safety, security and public health regulations. Ensures all fire hazards such as lint in dryers are frequently removed and logs are kept up to date at all times. Ensures that all safety protocols are followed and that all recommended PPE worn when working with all equipment and chemicals. Ensures the safe storage of all chemicals as recommended by manufacturer guidelines following the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)Communicates actively with the Assistant Housekeeper regarding all laundry related issues and other relevant topicsEnforces strict Public Health Practices and follows United States Public Health (USPH) Standards within the laundry including but not limited to cleaning and maintenance, temperature recording, store organization, self-inspections and Integrated Pest Management (IPM)Assists in managing the Outbreak Prevention and Response Plan (OPRP) for the Housekeeping Department and enforces it in the laundry at all times. Supports the Assistant Housekeeper in case of an outbreakExecutes physical inventories and inventory spot checks in the laundry as instructed by the Assistant Housekeeper and as per inventory schedule. Strives to minimize inventory levels while ensuring sufficient stock levels to operate the department smoothly and safely. Consistently works with the team to minimize waste, breakage and wear and tear. Actively participates in the talent Management of the Ladies and Gentlemen in the department and identifies talent in other departmentsMaintains proper conduct and communication with all Guest and Ladies and Gentlemen on boardAdheres to, monitors and enforces the grooming standards according to the policyReviews the Ladies and Gentlemen periodically as per the company's performance review policiesEnsures the working and overtime hours are recorded properly in the company's time and attendance system and work / rest hours are not violatedExecutes or organizes training for individuals or groups to further the skills, knowledge and service standards in cooperation with the Human Resources department. Reviews periodically the progress of the teams LMS activities and tests if the theoretical knowledge is applied in practice QUALIFICATIONS Valid Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) and flag certification for the duration of the contract and appropriate to position STCW 95 Certification, valid for the duration of the contractExcellent knowledge and experience in Laundry operations. Advanced understanding of processes and procedures in the Cruise and Hotel industry, including inventory management, operating budgets and audit proceduresExcellent knowledge and experience in Public Health rules and regulations related to United States Public Health (USPH)Strong knowledge of Chemical dispensing, Point of Sales and Inventory Management systems in the capacity of a power user. Previous experience on-board a cruise ship as a Laundry Master or similar role required. In addition, experience in a luxury hospitality environment is essentialSound knowledge of MS Office package or similar applications in particular Excel PHYSICAL & LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

The Laundry Manager manages the onboard laundry operation and provides impeccable services for guests and Ladies and Gentlemen's personal laundry as well as items necessary to operate the business. This position ensures that all personal laundry of guests and Ladies and Gentlemen is properly charged in the company's Point of Sales System and adheres to International Public Health, Safety and Security Regulations. Ensures all Laundry operations are managed and operated to the highest safety standards ensuring the well-being of all Ladies and Gentlemen in their team.

Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- All Yacht Ladies and Gentlemen must be able to communicate in the English language in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers.
