POSITION SUMMARY
The Water & Pool Operator will oversee the key aspects onboard regarding all water and pool areas. This role assists with bunkering, potable water, ensures preventative maintenance and maintaining correct documentation / logs. Important focus on both public health and pool chemistry. Promotes that all Gold Standards and Brand Culture are always embraced by the team, particularly when assisting guests and Ladies and Gentlemen.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
01.

Maintains the highest standards of maintenance and monitoring of bunkering, production and distribution of chemical dosing systems

02.

Executes bunker and production halogenation and pH control

03.

Monitors halogen levels in all recreational water facilities; taking corrective action if halogen levels fall outside of the required limits and adjusting dosing equipment

04.

Executes potable water tank soundings and maintenance

05.

Completes microbiological monitoring with the Public Health & Environmental Compliance Officer and Medical team

06.

Making required entries in charts and logs maintained for the swimming pool and whirlpool halogenations and filtration

07.

Planned maintenance and records for potable and recreational water facilities and associated equipment

08.

Maintaining the necessary records for all recreational water facilities, and associated equipment

09.

Provides a safe, comfortable and memorable experience for our guests and Ladies and Gentlemen by conducting safe water bunkering operations

10.

Ensures daily / on-to-date water certification and record keeping

11.

Working with the Chief Officer, Public Health & Environmental Compliance Officer and Ship Service Engineer to ensure public health and hygiene standards

12.

Promotes safe and environmentally sound working practices through responsible behavior and adherence to company rules

QUALIFICATIONS
01.

Valid Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) and flag certification for the duration of the contract and appropriate to position

02.

Previous experience in a pool technician / waterman position with water / pool chemistry and testing of recreational water facilities.


PHYSICAL & LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The Lady or Gentleman must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

• All Yacht Ladies and Gentlemen must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

• All Yacht Ladies and Gentlemen must be able to communicate in the English language in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers.

We are expecting candidates with such experience and preferably with AB qualifications !
