An exciting opportunity has become available for an Accountant, Qantas Lounges to join our team. This role will assist the GM- Finance & Transformation in managing the accounting and reporting requirements, including assistance in Accounts Payable, Purchasing compliance and general finance functions for the lounges and hospitality services business.

Getting to know the role and your responsibilities

• Liaise with centralised payroll team to lead payroll reporting requirements for lounges.
• Process and review month end Payroll journals and reconciliations for on-shore Lounges and Off-Shore Lounges.
• Monitor all internal and external payroll requirements and ensure that procedures are respected.
• Ensure each Qantas Lounge manages payroll in line with projected business levels. All labour forecasting must be maintained and monitored.
• Prepare month end accounting journals for Offshore Lounges business in Xero.
• Assist in preparing Financial Reporting including Operating Statements and Trial Balance for Lounges
• Prepare Bank Reconciliation and other Balance Sheet reconciliations for review
• Prepare budgets and forecasts for the business, closely liaising with the operations teams.
• Liaise with operational leadership and provide commercial advice as required

What we need from you

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting (preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in finance preferably in a hospitality environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
• Knowledge of accounting systems: SunSystems, Xero, Receipt Bank, Approval Max is beneficial.
