Job Description For Accounting Clerk (temporary until May 2023)
Fairmont Vancouver Airport
Accounting Clerk (temporary contract, 4 days/week)
Reporting to the Director, Finance & Business Support, the Accounting Clerk will be a strong support to the Accounting team. This is a 4 day per week, temporary position, ending on or around May 2023. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
What you will be doing:
- Ensuring the highest level of accuracy and efficiency in dealing with internal and external guests in person and over the phone
- Developing and maintaining close and effective working relationships with all operational departments
- Assisting with Month End Inventory inputs/counts
- Creating invoices for client and guest billing
- Transferring bills into the A/R sub-ledger and maintaining these accounts
- Mailing and maintaining of all invoices and correspondences
- Adherence to all policies and corporate standards
- Investigating and resolving outstanding vouchers, guest accounts, and all billing related inquiries - as well as maintaining good, communicative client liaison
- Resolving guest inquiries with highest level of accuracy and guest satisfaction
- Producing monthly reports and assisting with special projects as requested
- Leading by example in demonstrating high levels of guest service, teamwork and initiative
- Compliance to PCI standards
- Adherence with all Local & Corporate Policies & Procedures as they relate to the position
- Moneris chargeback and discrepancy investigation
- Assist with credit applications and documentation
- Applying payments by cheque and wire
- Post inter-property billing per DOF and Staff Accountant
- Other duties as assigned
Your experience and skills include: - Guest driven with the proven ability to solve problems and to make timely guest service decisions
- Proactive with a demonstrated eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple functions/projects while meeting deadlines
- Previous hotel accounting experience a strong asset
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Must possess excellent skills in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Opera property management system preferred & Silverware point of sale system desired but not essential
- As a condition of your employment, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide appropriate proof of vaccination prior to the start of your employment
- Must possess legal entitlement to work in Canada, the hotel is unable to assist with obtaining work authorization at this time
