Job Description For Associate Director of Sales

Job Description

ü Responsible for all sales activities and personnel involved in the Sales and Marketing department.

ü Provide leadership to the day-to-day operations of the department, while focusing on the Organization's strategic goals.

ü Coordinate Sales operations with the other departments of the organization.

ü Develop and/or maintain and improve business relations with all customers of the organization.

ü Seek out and target new customers and new sales opportunities, initiate action plan to approach and secure new business for the organization.

Any matter which may affect the interests of the hotel should be brought to the attention

ü Responsible for the establishment of both annual and monthly sales objectives in coordination with the Organization's Strategic plan.

ü Develop or participate with the Management, in the development of the Strategic Sales Plan for the organization.

ü Direct the Sales & Marketing department to achieve objectives established in the Organization's Strategic Plan.

ü Responsible for providing an Annual Sales Plan and also quarterly updates, revisions and modifications to the Plan.

People Management

ü Establish and maintain seamless co-ordination & co-operation with all departments of the hotel to ensure maximum cooperation, productivity, morale and guest service.

ü Develop and maintain effective relationships with all the departments.

ü Respond to queries by resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner.

ü Ensure that the team has been trained for all safety provisions.

ü Ensure that all personnel are kept well informed of department's objectives and policies.

ü Motivate and develop team to ensure smooth functioning of the department and promote teamwork.

Financial Management

ü Identify optimal, cost effective use of the resources and educate the team on the same.

ü Develop Annual Marketing plan and plan week-to-week sales activities with a view to maximize productivity and promotion money.

ü Prepare the budget for the department & ensure to abide by it.

Operational Management

ü Responsible for coordinating the specific objectives of the Sales Plan with the functional departments of the organization.

ü Develop action plan related to the Annual Revenue Plan to ensure Revenue Plan objectives are achieved.

ü Maintain close contacts within the community and in neighboring marketing areas, with Airlines, Travel agencies, Commercial houses, Private club, Professional associates, etc. to procure new business for the hotel.

ü Ensure that internal promotion materials are reviewed on a regular basis and are consistent with standards set by the Management.

ü Work closely with the Assistant Manager Public Relations to improve relations between the Organization and the community; to obtain maximum media coverage of activities within the premises which are of interest locally and internationally.

ü Coordinate all methods to maintain and increase business volume. This includes Advertising, Sales Promotions, Personal Selling, publicity, Community Relations, special sales projects, employee training and guest relations.

ü Handle additional responsibilities as and when delegated by the Management.

Managerial Qualities

ü Leadership skills that utilize persuasion and motivation to attain organizational goals is the most desirable management quality, followed by honesty, integrity, ethical behaviour, tactfulness, openness, and cultural awareness;

ü Ability to accept responsibility;

ü Self confidence, motivation, drive and tenacity;

ü Ability to enhance organizational performance;

ü Ability to clearly delegate tasks and responsibilities;

ü Ability to think strategically, inductively, and creatively;

ü And the propensity to recognize and acknowledge other peoples' ideas.

Work Experience

Hotel Management /Any Graduate with 8-10 years with relevant experience

•Strong Interpersonal & Presentation Skills
