What you will be doing: - Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
- Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
- Explain the banquet menu to guests, assisting those with special dietary needs or preferences as well as provide suitable assistance when recommending beverages
- Serve all food and beverage items for assigned banquet meetings
- Have full knowldege of all beverage lists and all menu items being served
- Ensuring all function rooms are properly cleaned and set to specifications
- Ensuring all equipment is properly stored and accounted for
- Clear and reset tables as well as ensuring service areas are clean and tidy
- Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
- Maintain standards of hygiene for food handling and presentation, following all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
- Other duties as assigned
Your experience and skills include: - Previous service experience an asset
- Previous point of sale system experience an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible and reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
- Ability to anticipate and focus attention on guest needs, being professional and welcoming
- Availability to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, overtime shifts, split shifts and holidays
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
