What you will be doing:

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
• Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
• Explain the banquet menu to guests, assisting those with special dietary needs or preferences as well as provide suitable assistance when recommending beverages
• Serve all food and beverage items for assigned banquet meetings
• Have full knowldege of all beverage lists and all menu items being served
• Ensuring all function rooms are properly cleaned and set to specifications
• Ensuring all equipment is properly stored and accounted for
• Clear and reset tables as well as ensuring service areas are clean and tidy
• Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
• Maintain standards of hygiene for food handling and presentation, following all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
• Other duties as assigned

Your experience and skills include:

• Previous service experience an asset
• Previous point of sale system experience an asset
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible and reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
• Ability to anticipate and focus attention on guest needs, being professional and welcoming
• Availability to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, overtime shifts, split shifts and holidays
