What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Director of Sales, this role resides at our Central Canada Location: Fairmont Royal York, Toronto, ON, Canada. The position is responsible for Local Corporate Travel accounts for the Toronto market. In addition prospecting is a heavy component of the position.
  • Parameters for this position will flex based on business needs however the primary focus of the role is to hunt and grow the relationship with our local corporate travel accounts and the promotion of existing business
  • This position is responsible for exceeding their revenue quota as outlined by the Director of Sales
  • Develop and implement monthly proactive action plans
  • Assertive prospecting to determine and recommend prospective customers from the market
  • Exceed monthly sales activity goals. This includes activities such as: prospecting, personal sales calls, entertainment, and site inspections
  • Must be able to work balancing multiple priorities with a high level of initiative
  • Participate in sites, FAMs, and industry trade shows, promotional events and other related organizations
  • Respond to inquiries regarding guest room and function space availability in a professional and timely manner
  • To solicit from and confirm with clients, all information pertaining to their travel program
  • Manage the RFP process and rate loading via Lanyon/GDS platforms
  • To initiate billing procedures to ensure hotel deal with creditable clientele, as well as ensuring deposits and/or credit applications are received with adequate information
  • Work independently within given parameters and maintain a positive attitude within a very busy environment
  • Able to handle many tasks at once with strong organizational and supervisory skills
  • Maintain high quality of service standards required by the hotel and company

Your experience and skills include
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Hotel Management degree/diploma preferred
  • Opera and Microsoft application literacy required
  • Previous Sales Experience preferred
  • Skilled with negotiating and dealing with contracts and addendums
  • Minimum 3 year experience in similar role

Physical Aspects of Position (included but not limited to):
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Frequent sitting throughout shift

When the hotel opened in 1929 it was the tallest building in the British Common Wealth and contained 1,048 rooms, a concert hall, library, extensive bakery, radio station and even a hospital. Today, this essential downtown landmark has completed a multi-million dollar transformation, reimagining its lobby, rooms, dining venues, event spaces, and Fairmont Gold - the property's exclusive hotel within a hotel luxury experience.
