Job Description For Business Travel Sales Manager

Calgary Eau Claire

Sales Manager
Through your passion and motivation, you sell memorable experience to guests who stay at Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire (managed by Accor). You are professional and knowledgeable about your property, and you build strong relationships and create bond with your guests.

What you will be doing:
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service, while ensuring prompt and courteous service is provided to both internal and external contacts
  • Manage the Hotel's business travel and tour & travel accounts including RFP's & prospecting.
  • Solicit and engage with new business/clients, while maintaining existing relationships.
  • Proactively communicate with the Hotel's most loyal guests and VIPs such as offering support with reservations, sending pre-arrival communication, and personally welcoming them while on property
  • Create, track, and act upon preferences and requests of elite loyalty members and VIPs
  • Maintain an active presence in the Hotel, and organize and participate in Hotel loyalty receptions
  • Create, maintain and manage positive and strong relationships with all guests, vendors, departments, colleagues and the global sales network
  • Organize and conduct introductory & planning site visits in a professional manner that addresses the needs of the guests/groups, while showcasing our Hotel and offerings
  • Work with the Conference Services Manager for effective pass over of all group blocks to service catering component
  • Create strong relationships across various departments, including Front Office, Culinary, Housekeeping, Audio Visual, etc., while ensuring information is accurately communicated and operational requirements are accounted for
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports as required. As directed, assist with the compilation of competitive intelligence information. Conduct on-going research within given market segment /region.
  • Participate in tradeshows, conventions and promotional events within the hotel and trade related organizations

Your experience and skills include:
  • Previous Group Sales experience, minimum 3 years', in a similar setting is required
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office applications is required and prior experience with property management systems is an asset
  • Diploma/degree in a related field is an asset
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, both written and verbal is essential, with the ability to build relationships and rapport seamlessly
  • Proven ability to problem solve, interact with many moving parts and collaborate with various areas throughout the hotel
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to focus attention on guest needs while remaining calm and professional at all times
  • Ability to work well under pressure while handling short lead times when necessary
  • High attention to detail to ensure the highest level of accuracy
