Job Description For Corporate Sales Manager

Mercure Milton Keynes

Job Description

As Sales Manager, you would take the lead in maximising revenue development for the Regional & National MICE market via a structured sales approach, as well as secure new Corporate, Agency and Group business, and manage our existing Corporate, Agency and Group accounts.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analysis local market trends and competitor activity to identify new business leads
  • Develop customer accounts and travel within the local area to drive business into the specific hotel and to increase market/customer share in all revenue streams
  • Drive and co-ordinate all sales activities to maximise revenue from existing accounts
  • Negotiate room rates/packages with corporate clients
  • Work with Accor in order to answer RFPs and further drive sales
  • Develop and implement creative local marketing channels and opportunities
  • Investigate new areas of business in terms of market development into new territories and market segments by working with the Revenue Manager, Events Coordinators and Head of Communications
  • Prepare company contracts for the hotel in accordance with current business and pricing conditions
  • Work within current business strategies and recognising potential opportunities
  • Cooperate with other departments in the hotel to create an exceptional Guest experience and build strong, comprehensive sales programs
  • Attend Sales events, as required
  • Produce accurate and timely reports that meet the needs of the senior management to include the reporting of appointments, calls made and business leads
  • Answer customer queries in a prompt and professional manner


Work Experience
  • A minimum of 3 years hotel corporate sales experience
  • Passionate about sales and achieving targets and objectives
  • A good understanding of the local Milton Keynes market.
  • Proven organizational skills, works well on your own, but able to report into multiple stakeholders.
  • Able to set and meet deadlines with quality results.
  • Positive attitude and good communication skills and excellent Sales and Negotiation skills.
  • Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service
  • Proficient in IT applications including Opera Sales & Catering, Lanyon, ANAIS and Microsoft office.
  • Good command of English Language both verbally and written.
