Electrician Engineer I

Reports to Engineering Supervisor

SUMMARY:

Performs routine general maintenance and repair functions within approved guidelines and as directed. Colleague may achieve this level based on the successful completion of accredited journeyman apprenticeship program in an appropriate trade such as Electrical. Has knowledge of advanced concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field. Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. May lead and direct the work of others. Typically reports to a manager or supervisor. A wide degree of creativity ad latitude is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair within a specific area electricity as directed by immediate supervisor.
• Ensure adherence to all OSHA regulations and internal safety policies and procedures.
• Operate company vehicles as required.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance on all equipment as assigned.
• Leads and supports other Engineers as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by Engineering Supervisor.
• Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma GED required. Successful completion of an accredited journeyman apprenticeship. Certified in Electrical.

Strong mechanical/electrical skills and must be able to read blueprints. Must be certified and possess five or more years of verifiable commercial experience in the field or in a related area.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure and technical manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or colleagues of our organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the colleague regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock and radiation.
