An exciting opportunity has become available for a Financial Controller - Shared Services to join our Finance team based at our Gold Coast Office. This role is responsible for providing the financial expertise to enable the successful implementation of Accor Apartments and Realty strategy while maximizing the return on investment to all stakeholders.
Reporting into the Vice President, Financial Operations this role is also responsible for creating and executing a business plan that is aligned with the Accor Apartments and Realty business strategy with a primary focus on the execution of financial and accounting activities and the delivery of financial results.
Getting to know the role and your responsibilities
- Work with Vice President, Financial Operations and Chief Operations Officer to develop initiatives to achieve desired objectives.
- Development of policies and procedures to ensure a sound internal control environment
- Work with and maintain constructive relationships with the Corporate office
- Ongoing assistance to corporate office in respect of operational matters that have a financial perspective.
- Development of financial procedures and analysis to support property initiatives.
- Establishment and management of appropriate accounting controls and procedure to maintain the integrity of Accor Apartments and Realty and manage business risks.
- Ensures compliance with standard and local operating procedures.
- Work with Corporate Financial Services team to ensure timely and accurate production of corporate finance reports as directed.
- Oversee and finalize accurate and timely preparation of corporate monthly financial reports.
- Ensures that P&L's are accurate (i.e., costs are properly matched to revenue, costs are recorded in the proper accounts) and statements are delivered to appropriate individuals in a timely manner.
- Advises the Vice President, Financial Operations on existing and evolving operating/financial issues.
- Management of annual financial corporate budgets.
- Review and forecasting of budgets on monthly/quarterly basis.
- Monitors systems to ensure accuracy of data.
- Internal audit of Accor Apartments and Realty once per year.
What we need from you
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
- CA/CPA qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- An ability to understand and navigate complex stakeholder environments
- Strong focus and passion for hotel operations
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, develop and inspire teams
- Confident and articulate communication, negotiation, relationship and networking skills
- Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to make sound decisions and understand commercial implications
- Ability to think strategically and plan on a mid to long term scale
