The Role: This position provides managing daily food and beverage service that meets the guests' expectation by following hygienic food and beverage handling procedures.
The hotels have wonderful staff who truly live Accor's Heartist culture. This broad role works in conjunction with service teams to ensure quality product and service to guests.
It will be the food & beverage attendant's responsibility to ensure all tasks are completed accurately within given time frames and to maintain health and safety standards in the restaurant .
As part of the Northern Territory initiative to support the tourism, hospitality, agriculture and Aged care businesses to attract critical workers in the NT and relocate new local workers to transition from unemployment into a job.

The Candidate: You must have experience or formal training in hospitality industry, including working experience in a star class hotel or a fast paced restaurant. Demonstrating an understanding of food delivery, health and safety standard and learning and development will be highly regarded.
An exceptional F&B attendant who is flexible, adaptable and thrives in a diverse environment. Ideally, it is expected that you will have to ensure the restaurant is running smoothly when the Restaurant Manager is absent.
You must have worked in hospitality or customer service industry, demonstrating a passion for providing excellent service. Your ability to manage competing and changing priorities will see you succeed in the role.
Below will be some of the responsibilities and expectations: - Must have experience as a barista, beer pouring skills & wine knowledge.
- Experience in table service ordering, perform the tasks of order taking and maximize sales opportunities through knowledge of product and suggestive selling. Ensure accuracy by repeating order(s) to the guests.
- Ensure that dockets are written clearly and correctly so the cashier and kitchen can fulfil their duties effectively.
- Deliver orders promptly to the kitchen production area.
- Check ordered meals on collection from kitchen and deliver to guests promptly to maintain temperature and appearance; ensure items are announced.
- Keep tables and service areas clean and tidy as per procedure manual.
- Maintain hygienic food service techniques during service.
- Take responsibility for your designated section and station.
- Able to carry 3 plates at the same time to maximise efficiency
- Promptly answer the telephone and maximize sales opportunities through knowledge of product and suggestive selling.
- Be knowledgeable of and operate within appropriate outlet and hotel liquor licensing guidelines and House Management Policies.
- Maintain currency of RSA certification, amendments and updates and adhere to RSA principles

Eligibility criteria for Work Stay Play:
- Has relocated to the NT from outside the Territory to take up employment with Novotel & Mercure Darwin Airport Hotel
- Is either an Australian Citizen, Permanent resident, or is otherwise legally authorised to work in Australia
You must complete the minimum hours worked in the Northern Territory from a single Eligible Employer through one of the following:
- an average of 30 hours per week; or

This is a Fixed Part-time position for 6 months, with free accommodation for applicants outside of NT.
