Job Description For General Accounting Clerk

General Clerk
You are a multi-tasker and are able to work independently, performing a wide range of complex and confidential administrative duties to support your team. You communicate well with all contacts, anticipate and resolve issues, and update team your various projects.
The General Clerk is responsible for preparing and reconciling daily deposits, assisting the accounts receivable team with group billing, guest inquiries and disputes as well as monitoring accounts as requested by the Credit Manager.

What you will be doing: - Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks
- Must have a strong commitment to follow all local and corporate policies and procedures as they relate to this position
- Balance daily cash receipts and prepare daily bank deposits
- Generate group invoices with the required supporting documentation
- Work with Hotel management and third party clients to ensure bills are accurate, clear and timely
- Reply promptly to guest inquiries and resolve billing issues
- Prepare and post A/R adjustments as necessary
- Research and respond to credit card disputes
- Maintain and reconcile group, catering & transient accounts.
- Monitor and maintain house accounts
- Coordinate A/R filing and storage as needed
- Assist with month-end inventory counts
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Controller, Assistant Controller or Credit Manager.
Your experience and skills include: - Previous accounting experience required
- Familiarity with operating systems such as Opera, Microsoft Office and Micros is preferred.
- Excellent administrative, interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
- Multi-tasking and prioritizing will be necessary.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize work in an environment with multiple interests
- Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion
- Competency using a variety of computer softwares
