General Manager Colleague Residences and Services
Nestled behind the Historic Chateau Lake Louise is a residence complex of 300 units and up to 750 tenants. The colleague services division as its known encompasses all elements of the residences including housing agreements, activity programming (Lifestyles) and onsite food and beverage operations. The complex includes a Colleague Center offering a restaurant & bar, a grocery store, gym and services for our colleagues such as rental for sports equipment and uniform services.
The General Manager is directly responsible for the leadership and engagement of a team consisting of up to 20 colleagues and leaders. Through day-to-day actions, this role must maintain positive tenant relationships via communication, transparency, follow-up, and true care.
Our community works, lives and plays on site so it is important that the General Manager prioritize the planning of continuous lifestyle activities for the tenants ensuring wide access and diverse programming.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the General Manager of the resort your essential job functions include:
- Oversee the housing needs of all tenants. Ensure each new resident is provided with adequate, clean and well maintained housing
- Create and maintain the proper standards for the tenant journey (pre arrival, arrival, etc)
- Ensure timely follow up to any housing requests.
- Ensure quality of units and supplied furniture and fixtures are maintained and tracked, including any preventative measures
- Oversee uniform exchange counter, sport equipment rentals, package handling, building maintenance, room inspections, room-change assignments and key control
- Work closely with engineering team on R&M and capital plan for all residence areas
- Communicate, administer and enforce policies and procedures outlined in Colleague Housing Handbook & Contract with all residents
- Respond to security reports and manage any actions accordingly
- Work closely with security team on health, safety and security of residence areas
- Liaise with Talent & Culture to maintain communication, and to ensure support and assistance is shared
- Provide leadership, career development, coaching, and performance management for all colleagues in department
- Coordinate with Lifestyle manager and plan, execute and chaperone a variety of recreational programs, activities and events for colleagues as well as outings off the CLL property. This includes colleague parties and gatherings in Stables Pub.
- Liaise with Department Heads and Executives to ensure the ongoing development and execution of all aspects of Lifestyles Program are in line with hotel operation
- Manage all Food & Beverage and retail operations by providing excellent service to our guests. Grow revenue opportunities, exceed financial expectations and control expenses.
- Adhere to AGLC rules and regulations concerning the responsible service of alcohol
- Participate in and support long term strategic planning for colleague residences
- Effectively manage expenses and control of assets, while adhering to annual Colleague Services budgets and monthly forecasts
- Oversee the management of department accounting procedures including rent deductions/collections, monthly reports, payroll administration, etc
- Create and implement annual departmental goals, including action plans to address any concerns from the Employee Engagement Survey and tenant experience surveys
- Liaise with Regional Purchasing Manager for supplies and new purchases
- Adhere to any and all legislative requirements
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety and wellness initiatives
- Be an active member of the hotel sustainability committee. Adhere to all hotel and Accor sustainability and environmental policies and initiatives
- Uphold all Fairmont and Accor policies (such as confidentiality, code of ethics)
- Carry out any other tasks and duties as required or assigned from time to time
Qualifications: - Prior experience in Food and Beverage and Retail is required
- Experience with property management, housing administration, human resources, security and/or building maintenance an asset
- Proven leadership experience is required
- Ability to train and coach new and existing colleagues to exceed our colleagues expectations
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and able to manage constant change
- Passion for Innovation and change will be required
- Ability to effectively manage challenging situations; balancing empathy with assertiveness
- Must be flexible and able to handle a variety of tasks
- Must be detail oriented, highly organized, and self-directed/motivated
- Event planning experience an asset
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Computer experience in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Rent Manager an asset
- Valid Driver's License is required
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends, holidays, etc as required
Physical Aspects of Position: - Occasional physically demanding duties in residence and outdoors - encompassing standing, walking, bending & lifting (25kg)
