Job Description For Laundry Associate
Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach
Prime Function
- Responsible for washing hotel linen, uniforms and guest laundry.
- To maintain washing machinery by reporting defects to Supervisor, initiating repairs and adjusting machine controls. Ensure to perform non-mechanical maintenance of equipment.
- To perform laundry washing responsibilities in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Any matter which may affect the interests of Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach should be brought to the attention of the Management.
People Management
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with all departments.
- Respond to the queries by resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
Financial Management
- Monitor and control consumption of power, steam, detergents and other chemicals.
- Identify optimal, cost effective use of the resources.
Operational Management
- Ensure to maintain all laundry machines, equipment & chemicals and detergents required to wash the laundry.
- Sort laundry items by kind, colour, and heavy soiled, medium soiled, light soiled and separate dry cleaning from laundry items.
- Check linen/ uniforms for damage, stains etc, and ensure to inform the Laundry Supervisor about the defects noted.
- Load proper number of items and quantity or weight into washing machines, add detergents or chemicals as required and ensure to operate the machine carefully.
- Ensure to remove stains from the items using the proper stain removers and according to the standard procedures.
- Examine laundered items to ensure cleanliness.
- Ensure that all the Standard Operating Procedures set for the department are followed.
- Handle additional responsibilities as and when delegated by Management.
