Maintenance Person, Overnight
Perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the Fairmont Waterfront's facilities and equipment to ensure a safe and functional environment for our guests.

What you will be doing:

• Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service
• Health & Safety conscious, actively involved in maintaining a safe work environment
• Working as part of the Engineering team with others as required
• Service and repair duties of guestrooms, public areas, and heart of house
• Minor equipment repairs
• Minor HVAC servicing and filter changes
• Caulking washrooms, bathrooms and repair and replacement of bathroom fixtures, and minor plumbing
• Daily swimming pool test and chemical balancing when assigned
• Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on property's facilities and equipment
• Inspect all areas of the property for safety issues and take immediate corrective action
• Assist guests regarding hotel equipment e.g. TV's as needed
• Active participation in our environmental program and sustainable operations
• Daily system checks when assigned
• Other duties as assigned

Your experience and skills include:

• Relevant building maintenance experience is an asset
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible and reliable
• Experienced "jack of all trades" in areas such as painting, plumbing, tiling and carpentry
• Previous maintenance experience across a large commercial building or similar is preferred
• Mechanical aptitude
• Excellent guest service skills
• Able to work safely with minimum supervision and be able to prioritize tasks
• Team oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Must have an eye for detail
• Class 4 ticket an asset
• Good command of the English language
• Permanent overnight availability needed. Must also be able to work varied shifts including early mornings, afternoons, and late evenings. Overtime or split shifts may also be required

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
