Peppers Beacon Queenstown has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and career driven team player to join as a proficient and competent Night Manager.
The main duties and responsibilities for the Night Manager position are, but not limited to:
- Welcoming all guests to the hotel in an efficient and friendly manner
- Handling all guest enquiries, and providing helpful information
- Checking guests in and out of our property and settling accounts
- Provide accurate and up to date financial and yield reports as directed
- Night management of hotel operations in the absence of Hotel Manager and Senior Management Team
- Actively contribute towards reaching agreed hotel targets and objectives
- Audit the daily activity of front office and food & beverage operations in accordance to policies and procedures
- Maintain responsibility for the overall auditing and administration function of the Night Audit process
- Managing and undertaking the Hotels management systems night audit process
- Be knowledgeable of Front Office systems and know back up procedures and system recovery procedures
- Process and reconcile the daily banking inline with the hotels Trust Accounting and Sync bank.
- Process and allocate payments by following strict criteria and using correct remittance documentation to ensure accuracy
- Maintain current knowledge of all security and emergency procedures and manage the instigation of such procedures as required
- Inform other departments of Guest special requests, including early/late departures and room changes
- Ensure guest feedback is recorded accurately per operational standards and any matters requiring action are resolved in a prompt and efficient manner
- Ensure guest security and privacy is maintained at all times
- Maintain awareness of all hotel areas
- Responsible for all other departments in the absence of their respective managers for the duration of the night time operation
- Take and prepare room service orders
- Participate in workplace consultation on matters pertaining to Occupational Health and Safety, as per the hotels agreed arrangements
- Invoicing Travel Agents and following up on overdue accounts
- Communicate problems, resolved or unresolved to your Supervisor at shift change over and duty log book
- Ensuring the safety of guests at all times, completing regular floor checks and managing noise concerns
The Ideal Candidate will: - Have previous experience as a Night Manager, Duty Manager or Night Auditor
- Hold a current GM Certificate or be able to apply for one immediately
- Hold a current First Aid certificate
- Be highly personable and enthusiastic about customer service
- Have immaculate grooming and professional presentation
- Be innovative in thinking of ways to "WOW" our guests
- Be extremely organised and efficient
- Ability to balance and audit accounts and hotel operations
- Calm, efficient, and able to work well under pressure
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
- Current and demonstrated knowledge of health and safety and security procedures
- Understand and demonstrates the importance of being a team player
