JOB DESCRIPTION: Pastry Cook

what you will BE DOING:
Is your creativity and passion unmatched when developing sweet and delicious art? As a Pastry Cook, you are skilled and well versed in baking, innovative, and always looking for new ideas to impress our guests and clients. The edible art you create makes our guests smile and wanting more in our award-winning hotel!

• Work closely with the Culinary leadership team to communicate and coordinate all dessert specials
• Maintain food quality and consistency of the highest standard
• To consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow colleagues
• Kitchen maintenance and cleaning, following food safety requirements
• Maintaining and ordering stocks and supplies

• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
• Follow all Hotel Service Standards
• Any other job tasks that may be assigned

Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to the following:

• Constant standing and walking throughout the shift
• Occasional bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling
• Occasional lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
• Frequent handling and reaching outward

• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

your experience and skills include:

• 3-5 years of Pastry experience required

• Creative and passionate about food and customer service
• Must be able to work any shift assigned, such as holidays, weekends, mornings, afternoons and evenings.
• Able to work in a high-pressure environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player

• Previous experience in the culinary field required
• Journeyman's papers or international equivalent an asset
• Diploma Certification in a Culinary discipline an asset
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
• Responsible for State & Federal Food Handlers certification (mandatory)
