Job Description For Resort Activities Guide (Spring/Summer Start Dates)

Fairmont Banff Springs is looking for an energetic individual to assist in the delivery of our Resort Activities Guiding program. Resort Activities Guides should have a wide variety of talents but above all should have excellent customer service skills and a willingness to learn.

What you will be doing: - Lead / Guide experiences not limited to guided wilderness, vehicle and bike tours, as well as walks and hikes.
- Share the history and culture of Canadian Rockies enthusiastically
- Assist in contacting guests before their hotel arrival to ensure smooth delivery of guided experiences
- Selling, booking and updating guided experiences
- Be responsible for a positive, safe and memorable experience for each and every guest
- Maintain positive working relationships with Parks Canada and adhere to all Parks regulations
- Assist in the set-up for all facilitated activities and execute clean-up duties upon completion of program, including cleaning and sanitizing of spaces and objects, before, during, and after the facilities open / activity ends
- Contribute new activity ideas and assist in the future development of Resort Activities, as well as other programs
- Carry out all other tasks as assigned by the Resort Activities Manager or Executive Team
- Other duties as assigned
Your experience and skills include: - 40 hour Standard First Aid & CPR C level or greater is mandatory
- Apprentice Interpretive Guide Certification from IGA or equivalent
- Four Season Group Management Certification from IGA
- Class 4 Drivers License and clean driving history
- Minimum one years recent experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced recreational / guiding environment
- Excellent work organization - ability to solve problems and respond to changing conditions or unexpected events
- Positive, outgoing and professional attitude with a passion for National Parks and Town of Banff
- Graduate or student of an Outdoor Recreation/ Ecotourism or Tourism program an asset
- Must be physically fit and able to run all activities in any weather including walking, hiking, biking.
- Must be able to lift and carry 40+ lbs and be on your feet for 8 hours a day

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
