Job Description For Restaurant Day Supervisor & Host

Responsible for welcoming our guests and patrons, and overseeing smooth operations of the dining room for breakfast and lunch, while assisting the team in providing a memorable experience.

What you will be doing:

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
• Greet and seat customers
• Manage the online reservations system (Open Table)
• Prepare the dining room by assigning reserved seating and assigning sections for servers
• Engage with customers while giving menus and pouring water
• Resolve customer concerns and listen to feedback
• Assist in clearing tables and resetting
• Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
• Assist with opening and closing of checks
• Assist with replenishing items and inventory control
• Oversee checklist completion
• Supervise the dining room operations
• Early morning shifts including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
• Coverage of breakfast and lunch service
• Follow restaurant policies, procedures and service standards
• Have full knowledge of beverage lists, promotions,menu items, contents, and preparation methods
• Follow all safety and sanitationpolicies when handling food and beverages
• Carry out any other tasks as assigned

Your experience and skills include:

• High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate
• Previousexperience in food service industry required
• Knowledge of point of sale system an asset
• Previousexperience as host, supervisor or server in luxury setting an asset
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Previous point of sale system experience an asset
• Food handler & TABC certifications required
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment, and with minimal supervision
• Ability to multi task and work cohesively as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Physical Abilities:

• Ensure various physical movements throughout the work areas
• Reach 1-2 feet
• Remain in stationary position for 2 hours throughout work shift
• Constant walking, standing, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling
• Exert physical effort in carrying items (up to 40 pounds)
• Occasional use of stairs, ramps and ladders
