Job Description For Senior Sales Manager



Job Description

  • Senior sales Manager's mission is to primarily promote the hotel and hotels belonging to the chain in his/her area/region. This position is accountable for booking individual, group business, banquets and meetings on an established base of the top producing key accounts and for managing / converting high potential key prospects to meet with and excel the forecasted occupancy, budgeted average rate and revenue.
  • Monitors competitors' activities and assists in marketing intelligence.
  • Sells to new, existing and prospective customers considering goals set forth in the sales strategy, negotiating optimum rate for the benefit of the business.
  • Services existing business through management of account bases.
  • Sell all facets of the hotel.
  • Manage the corporate head office and the preferred hotel history for that company.
  • Develop and maintain a regular pattern of sales calls, meeting with principals of target market.
  • Provides direction on, and conducts market research and analysis.
  • Develops and maintains contact with business generators, meeting and convention planners, visitors/convention bureau, travel agents, tour operators, airlines, corporate accounts, Government Departments and other producers closely allied to Hotel business.
  • Builds profile within local market place through attendance at various events and local market place.


Work Experience

Knowledge and Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years Sales management experience
  • Ability to study, analyze and interpret complex activities and/or information in order to improve new practices or develop new approaches
  • Must have the ability to understand local markets that affect the business of the hotel
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to train and develop new team members
  • Computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software)
  • Language skills: English and Mandarin Chinese
