What you will be doing:

• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of department and all kitchen areas
• Ensure that assigned staff has reported to work; document any late or absent employees
• Coordinate breaks for assigned staff
• Constantly monitor staff performance in all phases of service and job functions; rectify any deficiencies
• Prepare and distribute assignments for Stewarding staff and review priorities
• Check supply levels in storage closets. Complete requisition for additional supplies needed and submit to manager
• Review kitchen and restaurant service needs from Stewarding throughout the shift and ensure that all requirements are met according to specifications
• Monitor all work areas for compliance with State Health regulations and Hotel requirements; follow through on any violation
• Coordinate and assist with Banquet function requirements as assigned
• Assist Stewarding staff with their job functions where needed to ensure optimum cleanliness and service standards
• Provide feedback on staff performance to manager. Report disciplinary problems to manager and participate in the counselling of employees
• Adhere to all hotel environmental policies and initiatives
• Flexibility with shifts, that may include mornings, evenings, overnights and weekends.
• Carry out any other tasks assigned

Your experience and skills include:

• 2 years' experience in food service janitorial position
• Ability to communicate in English, both verbal and non-verbal
• Must Hold Valid Food Handlers Certificate
• High School diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements and use of equipment/machinery
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player
• Complete basic arithmetic and ability to use computer systems
• Ability to consistently stand and walk throughout shift
• Endure various physical movements
• Reach 1-2 feet
• Frequent lifting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
• Exert physical effort in carrying items (up to 40 pounds)
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining work authorization documents.
