About Us
APICIUS International School of Hospitality is the first international institution of its kind in Italy. Founded in 1997, the school is an internationally respected leader in academic and career-oriented education. Apicius is the hospitality division of Florence University of the Arts - The American University of Florence.The campus location of Apicius is in the historic center of Florence near the Duomo, located within a 2000 sq meter palazzo that includes classroom spaces and creative learning labs:Fedora Pastry Shop - Sorgiva Spa - Dimora Guest ApartmentsThese labs are non-profit Community Engagement Member Institutions that make the Apicius learning model unique in all of Italy, where students and faculty put learning into direct practice within the local community through experiential learning. A fourth lab is the Ganzo School Restaurant located in the Sant'Ambrogio neighborhood.Three main divisions represent Apicius academics:School of Food and Wine StudiesSchool of HospitalitySchool of Sports and Health SciencesAcademic programs feature varying lengths and disciplines:- Short-term study abroad- 1 or 2-Year Certificate Career / AA Programs- 4-Year bachelor's degree, dual degree option granting the FUA-AUF BA and an American bachelor's degree also available.
