Job Description For Associate Director of Sales and Events

The Associate Director of Group Sales and Events is an experienced senior level hotel sales role that reports directly to the Director of Sales, Marketing and Events.The Associate Director of Group Sales & Events works on positive sales growth for Grand Hyatt at SFO and will be required to achieve a quota and service groups.The qualified candidate willassist in hiring, training, managing and coaching group sales and event planning managers, to include some administrative duties as it relates to such. Following is list of position expectations:

  • Ability to demonstrate a proactive approach to sales and be a dynamic sales professional who will positively impact our business and clearly understand the Grand Hyatt brand
  • Maximize total hotel revenue, including room and banquet revenue
  • Maximize segmentation mix and develop business from existing Hyatt channels while creating new business development opportunities
  • Passion for direct sales in the group segment developing new business, solicitation & prospecting, and acquisition of key accounts will be implemental for this role
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships across internal and external clients, and other market and industry sources
  • Plan, organize, and host familiarization, client events, team roadshows, and entertainment


Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience within a 4-5 star hotel sales environment
  • A self-starter who is highly driven, solutions orientated, persistent and adaptable to change
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, relationship management and networking abilities
  • A proven track record in achieving targets and yield management
  • A collaborative and motivating leader of others with a strategic and analytical focus
  • Ability to recognize trends and shift strategy to maximize results
  • Excellent emotional intelligence
  • Ability to identify unique selling points to separate experiences from the competition
  • Has a passion for direct sales and willingness to jump in to assist in developing relationships and territories
