Job Description For Director, Field Sales

Description

Hyatt is seeking a market knowledge expert to help drive top line revenue directly to hotels. This will be accomplished through collaboration between hotel sales leadership and HSF to uncovering business opportunities. This position will bring together all hotels in market for comprehensive top line revenue growth and management with purpose of working to steal share from competitors and support each other. Understanding key markets, building customer relationships to drive business, and collaboration with hotel colleagues will be the core tenants of this role.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead market cluster events to promote collaboration within the market and drive revenue generation.
  • Uncover new business in markets for hotels and for potential Hyatt Sales Force Accounts
  • Review needs of hotels through a deep dive to uncover what brand resources are not being utilized and uncover new business to help the hotel win in market share on an as needed basis.
  • In all interactions, identify and develop new talent in market and help keep talent within Hyatt as they progress
  • Play an active role in supporting Hyatt sales training and company revenue development initiatives
  • Provide Corporate office and SVP - Field Operations with sales support and expertise on assigned hotels.
  • Act as conduit between Corporate and hotels to execute corporate revenue generation initiatives and handle sales opportunities.
  • Ability to understand key demand generators in a market and develop relationships with customers
  • Identify new revenue generation opportunities within region
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt core values

Qualifications
Experience
  • Minimum 10 years hotel experience including sales with select and full-service hotels
  • Minimum 3 years director of sales experience in full-service hotel and/or select regional experience both are a plus
  • Strong sales knowledge of transient, group and leisure segments
  • Multiple hotel and brand experience is a plus

Education

Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Sales, or Business required

Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job
  • Efficient with computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Envision, EAS, Hoteligence, Salesforce.com, and Lanyon RFP proficiency

Additional Comments and Requirements
  • Ability to travel primarily in region - approx. 50%
  • Outstanding project management, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure.
