About the role:

As Duty Security Officer youare accountable for the practical application of security measures, which will include the safety and security of colleagues and guests and the protection of company assets in accordance with local Hyatt policies procedures and objectives. Some of the key processes include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for carrying out frequent patrols of all guest floors, public and service areas within the Hotel, including irregular checks of the perimeter
• Responsible for ensuring guest rooms, offices, service cupboards and any other appropriate doors are locked and free of fire and health hazards
• Accountable for initiating procedures in the event of crime, including preparation of reports, written statements, isolation and protection of the scene and liaising with Assistant Guest Services Managers and Police when necessary
• Responsible for investigating all accidents and injuries; whether to a guest, member of Staff, or to Hotel property
• Accountable for controlling access and egress from staff entrance, including verification, preparation, issue and recovery of ID cards and visitor passes
• Responsible for ensuring no unauthorised persons enter the company premises and to ensure that all persons properly seeking admission are courteously received an assisted
• Accountable for reporting all thefts and criminal offences occurring in the Hotel and during the tour of duty, recording all relevant incidents in the Occurrence Book, compiling necessary reports and statements
• Responsible for reporting all breaches of safety regulations including smoking restrictions and prevention of accidents
• Expected to attend provided training courses as required in order to extend knowledge and maintain efficiency of the Security Department
• Expected to be trained to certificate standard in First Aid

About you:

You have already gained first work experience in the same or similar role, preferably within a prestigious hotel environment but are able to adapt to new routines and procedures. With your good working knowledge of firefighting equipment and procedures you will be able to respond to an emergency immediately.You will already have a valid SIA license and a First Aid certificate.
