Reporting directly to the Director of Rooms, you would be responsible for directing and administering all housekeeping operations and providing support and leadership to the housekeeping operations to ensure the overall cleanliness and product quality of the hotel and its operating systems in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver extraordinary guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Ensure and maintain cleanliness, service and product quality standards of guest rooms, public spaces, restrooms, offices and banquet/meeting/conference rooms in accordance with federal, provincial, city of Toronto and company health, sanitation and safety standards.
Lead, direct and administer all Housekeeping to include, but not limited to, systems use and management, budgeting and forecasting, inventory control, department management, policy and procedure implementation and enforcement and meeting participation and facilitation.
Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, conducting counselling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward.
Lead and coach the Housekeeping & Laundry/Uniform department in providing exceptional guest service, colleague satisfaction and relationship building.
Develop, implement and maintain standards, including a training manual with regular updates.
Develop departmental goals for colleague satisfaction, guest satisfaction and service levels according to the Forbes' Five-star Service Standards.
Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, providing complete training for team members and ensuring proper labelling of hazardous supplies in accordance with WHMIS 2015 and company policies and procedures.
Promote and live actively a safe working environment and display environmental consciousness.
Coordinate renovation and capital improvement projects in partnership with other departments.
Contribute actively to the overall hotel strategic plan.
Providing support to the overall hotel operation to ensure that we maximize guest satisfaction and efficiency.
At least five (5) years experience in a housekeeping department with broad operational knowledge and a minimum of three (3) years in a senior leadership role with a proven track record.
A diploma in Hotel Management or related discipline is a strong asset.
Proven ability to shape service and team-centred culture.
Familiar with luxury hotel product expectations and standards.
Previously displayed leadership skills supporting and nurturing an environment of colleague growth and development, teamwork and extraordinary customer service.
Results-oriented, flexible and working well under pressure.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be a team player with a great sense of humour.
Must possess a high degree of professionalism and resourcefulness.
Previous experience with Leading Hotels of the World and Forbes beneficial.
