Miraval of the Berkshires, is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, team-centered, and forward-thinking individual for the role of Health & Wellness Administrative Assistant in a part-time capacity.
About the Department:
We pride ourselves on our dynamic group of Health & Wellness team members that includes a strong team of 25 professionals. We support multiple programs spanning across all disciplines of meditation, yoga, fitness, acupuncture, personal training, pilates, pre/postnatal education, prehab/rehab movement, aquatics, specialized breathing techniques and beyond.
About the Position:
Health & Wellness Administrative Assistant includes program support, customer service, and enforcement of department policies. The expectation is that the chosen candidate will bring energy, a willingness to grow, creative ideas, and commitment to take the program to the next level with the expansion of programming, resources, and administrative processes.
The Health & Wellness Administrative Assistant will possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster collaboration and teamwork among a variety of audiences. Skills in the areas of daily operational flow, program design and implementation, equipment and preventative maintenance, personnel management and assessment are essential to success in a dynamic and diverse environment.
The Health & Wellness Administrative Assistant will assist with programming needs and will be cross-trained to have appropriate knowledge and familiarity with all areas associated with the department.
Responsibilities - Schedule Management & Oversight:
Design and implement an approved staffing plan for assigned staff which may include Fitness Assists, Fitness Instructors, Yoga Instructors and Meditation Instructors.
Assist the Program Management Team in evaluating and auditing classes and class delivery to maintain the level and quality of Miraval programming.
Maintain schedules and trouble shoot any schedule issues. Ensure there is suitable coverage so all areas are staffed correctly and classes are not cancelled - in the event of class cancellations, guest outreach and recovery.
Daily guest folio management, class, private and group equity adjustments for scheduling the day before.
Create weekly, monthly and quarterly systems of equipment maintenance, cleaning/facility care, inventory/ordering and project schedules.
Assist Program Management with the onboarding and scheduling new hires as needed to meet expectations of roles in the department.
Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science/Physiology, Recreation, Athletic Administration, Physical Education, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated relative experience in a Health & Wellness fields to include: yoga, meditation and fitness. Experience in proper use and management of cardiovascular and weight training equipment.
The Health & Wellness Administrative Assistant will foster a positive work environment and encourage collaboration and teamwork. The individual should be capable of lifting moderate loads and performing equipment set-ups for various activities.
One or more professional fitness certifications accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) such as NASM, NSCA, ACE, ACSM, AFAA; or the ability to obtain such certification within six months of employment; and American Red Cross AED, CPR and First Aid certification.
