El Capitan Hotel features a restaurant serving classic California dishes inspired by the local bounty and produce of the Central Valley. The offerings extend throughout this historic property to a café bar, garden courtyard and market, where artisan coffees, crafted cocktails, and lighter fare nourish locals and travelers alike.

Greets (both arriving and departing) and seats all guests in a friendly manner and assists in maintaining the overall guest flow of the restaurant.Other dutiesinclude:monitoring table rotations and a keeping track of prepared tables for new guests, answering the phone andtakingreservations.

Qualifications
Responsibilities

• Warmly and graciously greets all guests upon arrival to the restaurant
  

• Ensure that all guest information is logged in the reservation system
  
• Maintain a professional, courteous attitude when confronted with impatient guests
  
• Explain restaurant concepts to guests
  
• Accommodate special seating requestsfor guests whenever possible
  
• Seat guestsbased on balancing of customerflow and sequence of service
  

• Relay messages toServers and bussers as needed
  
• Understanding of current menu items, specialties and menu deviations
  
• Performing basic cleaning tasksas needed or directed by MOD
  
• Assistingwith special events as needed
  
• Understands and can communicate products and services available at the resort
  

• Other duties as assigned Requirements
  

• A warm and outgoing personality with a passion for food and customer service
  
• Must be at least 18years old
  

• Prior fine dining restaurantexperiencepreferred
  
• Ability to anticipateand understand guests' needs.
  
• Ability to move quicklyand safely through the workspace.
  
• Ability to focusattention on service details.
  

• Ability tofollow directions thoroughly.
  
• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
  

• Must be able to stand and exert a well-paced mobility for periods up to four (4) hoursin length.
  

• Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other employees.
  
• Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris off the floor and wipe down booth seats in all areas of the restaurant
  
• Transports and carries objects (such ashigh-chair) up to 15 pounds up to 15 times a shift.
  
• Mobility required during the entire shift.
