Description
Summary
The Director of Purchasing is responsible for the sourcing and procurement of food, beverage, equipment, and supplies to all departments with the Hotel. This posiiton will also manage the receiving of orders and packages, including inspection of all incoming items for quality and accuracy, processing invoices, and creating purchase orders. Other duties will include cost tracking and analysis for food and beverage venues and other operating departments of the Hotel. This role will work with all departments of the Hotel, so strong communication skills are needed.
Qualifications
- This position requires a considerable amount of walking and the ability to lift, push and carry moderate to heavy amounts of weight on a consistent basis
- Previous purchasing or procurement experience is required; preferable in a hotel or high volume food and beverage establishment
- Must be able to demonstrate understanding of food and beverage cost control, managing/controlling inventories, requisitions, receiving deliveries, and package shipping
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office,Birchstreet Purchasing, Oracle, Opera and Markview is a plus
- Must be able to multitask, be detail-oriented, have good communication and organizational skills
- Requires open schedule availability, which may include weekends and holidays
