The Group & Business Travel Sales Manager is responsible for managing assigned accounts located locally and nationally. The primary intent is to drive sales for targeted group sales accounts and in all transient business segments.

  • Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers, industry organizations and Hyatt networking to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc. (locally and nationally).
  • Communicates details throughout organization after opportunities are booked.
  • Proactive Sales - Saturates and penetrates assigned accounts for group demand, business travel and/or leisure travel. Maintains current business relationships and networks for new business.
  • Understands the overall market - competitor's strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them.
  • Develops and implements sales strategy to achieve hotel and individual revenue goals
  • Closes the best opportunities for the hotel based on market conditions and hotel needs
  • Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
  • Proactively manages relationships with accounts that have multiple contacts and/or travel agencies.
  • Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifies customer service and creates a positive example for guest relations.
  • Maintains accurate and up to date account data and reporting using account management system.
  • Responsibilities include selling guest rooms and Hyatt services to group and transient market customers
  • Duties include managing current accounts, ensure proper solicitation and may include travel to major cities within market
  • Duties also include preparing and presenting effective proposals, presentations, maintaining well organized documentation and reports, utilization of Hyatt technology systems and coordination of customer service requirements with hotel operations staff as appropriate
  • The Sales Manager, Individual Travel, will also participate and may lead event meetings, sales and other staff meetings

Qualifications
  • 2-3 years hotel experience
  • Group Sales and/or Business Travel experience (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge, Hotelligence, Cvent and Lanyon
  • Prefer selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training
  • Community involvement and/or professional association is highly regarded
