A Steward or Dishwasher maintains dishwashing area and cleans restaurant equipment, glass and silver ware as well as food preparation utensils and keeps them in an orderly manner so they can be picked up by restaurant staff when needed.This person must have good communication skills and have the ability to lift, pull and push a moderate amount of weight. This is a fast paced position that will involve constant customer interaction.

Qualifications
Responsibilities

• Works as a member of a dishwashing crew ensuring soiled items are placed in proper racks or containers which carry them through a dishwashing machine.
  
• Inspects, removes, and properly stores all clean itemsfrom the dishwashing machine.
  
• Washes steam kettles, tilt fryers, and food preparation equipment too large to put in dishwashing machines
  
• Supplies dishware to food preparation stations as needed; removes soiled dishware and cooking equipment from food preparation stations.
  
• Keeps work area (floor, machine, shelving, carts, etc.) clean at all times.
  

• Performs miscellaneous duties, such as polishing, working in store room and preparing for banquets, special events, etc., as assigned.
  
• Attend and participate in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned.
  
• Perform work regularly and predictably.
  
• Other duties as assigned
  

• Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours.

• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
  
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  
• Must be able to work in an environment subject to extreme cold (30 degrees), heat (temperatures above 100 degrees),loudnoises from restaurant equipment and machinery, and fumes, odors, dust and smoke.
