The Laundry Man B’s primary responsibility is to iron the Crew and Officer uniforms, assist the Washer/Dryer position in their duties, operate the folding machine, clean the washing machines and dryers and bring the garbage to the incinerator room.
In order to consistently exceed Residents’ and Guests’ expectations and provide the highest levels of products and services, additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Iron the Crew and Officer uniforms
Assist the Washer/Dryer position in their duties when required.
Operate the folding machine correctly
Clean the washing machine’s drains daily and dryers three times a day
Bring the garbage to the incinerator room at the end of the shift
Ensure Residents’, Guests’ and Crew laundry is done according to set standards.
Report all shortages in linen and towels, damages, maintenance requests, problems and linen/uniform availability to the Washer/Dryer position.
Ensure that cleaning schedules are followed in all assigned areas.
Knowledgeable and proficient in the use and care of all laundry equipment.
Responsible for the cleanliness and ongoing cleaning maintenance of assigned work areas and machinery as per our Public Health guidelines.
Adhere to all SOPs and participate in the ongoing creation of SOPs.
Maintain a strong sense of urgency at all times while on duty and offer assistance to others around him/her without hesitation.
Assist in achieving the budgets by minimizing waste and chemicals and maintaining proper handling procedures of products and equipments.
Actively support the goals for the department as well as the company as a whole to ensure high quality and consistent service;
Ensure to follow new policies and company initiatives as assigned.
Ensure that all areas are maintained in accordance with Company policy, Public Health (HACCP), safety and environmental regulations.
Abide by the code of conduct.
Ensure that all working hours, including overtime, have been recorded accurately and truthfully on his/her timesheet for each time period worked.
Ensure he/she is productive at all times and assist in decreasing overtime by informing Management when Crew Members are not needed in assigned area during down times.
Report any findings of personal items of Residents, Guests, Crew and Officers to the Laundry Master.
QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:
Minimum of 2 - 3 years previous experience as a Laundry Man or similar job on an ultra luxury cruise ship, private club, boutique hotel, ultra luxury hotel or resort.
Experience with various types of laundry, pressing and folding machine.
Knowledgeable in the correct use and handling of cleaning agents and chemicals.
Experience in the use and operation of industrial dry cleaning equipment & chemicals is desirable
