Job Title: Assistant Revenue Manager

Report to (direct): Revenue Manager

Report to (indirect):

Responsible for: Reservation Department

Scope and General Purpose of Job:

Assists the Revenue Manager in designing and implementing a continuous pro – active, selling strategy and action plan, which will drive the optimization of hotel profits. To have the foresight to capture any unexpected opportunities, and implement recovery plans to counter act threats to business. Oversees the maximization of revenues through the combined efforts of the Reservations, Sales & MICE Sales departments. Assists the Director of Sales & Marketing is setting up rate structures and yearly budget.

1. Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

A. Analysis of Data & reports

1.1 Prepares and analyzes daily, weekly and monthly reports as per company standards
1.2 Communicates analysis with management team for necessary and required revenue management decisions to ensure that targets are met
1.3 Monitors and analyzes room’s inventory utilizing Revenue Management systems and structure to maximize occupancies and increase revenue including, but not limited to, monitoring room group blocks, demand levels and plan restriction.
1.4 Monitors competitive environment including pricing and strategies of competition as well as external variables such as city pressure and special events.
1.5 Assists sales team with performance analysis of hotel’s top producing thus accounts, enabling a variable and lucrative pricing proposal for re – contracting.
1.6 Understands the dynamics of the local, regional and international political and economical market and all demand generators

B. Controls & Strategies

1.7 Sets short and long term sale controls and strategies in cooperation with Director of Sales.
1.8 Communicates controls and selling strategies with all concerned and ensure strict adherence and authorize any expectations.
1.9 Responds to all group and MICE inquiries applying the selling strategies.
1.10 Liaises with Corporate Marketing to ensure promotions / programs are fully understood.

C. Support & Training

1.11 Ensures effective succession planning is in place.
1.12 Assists in recruitment and training of new reservation staff.
1.13 Maximizes the usage of up selling and assist in up selling techniques.
1.14 Ensures that Ayla Hotels Reservation inquiry sequence is followed at all times.
1.15 Identifies service standard weakness via mystery caller program and provide follow up training.
1.16 Works closely with other department to ensure the proper training of their team members in relations to the revenue management process.

D. Maintenance of Systems

1.17 Ensures booking of systems (rooms and MICE) are regularly maintained and updated thus maximizing the sales potential and data accuracy of reports.
1.18 Monitors input of data with particular attention to rate controls and status options.
1.19 Effectively retrieves statistical information.
1.20 Assisting in introducing new systems.
1.21 Ensures that all promotions / packages are properly loaded in all applicable systems
1.22 Ensures that rate parity is maintained across all distribution channels thus allowing maximum flexibility to capture all market buying patterns.

E. Other Duties

1.23 Ensures Rotana Hotels strategies and structure are met at all times.
1.24 Assists Director of Sales & Marketing in preparation of month end report.
1.25 Prepares necessary data required for revenue budgets and assist management team in preparing yearly budgets.

F. General

1.26 Acquires detailed and up – to – date product knowledge of all area Rotana properties.
1.27 Full and detailed knowledge of Rotana Hotels PMS & CRS – both current and planned
1.28 Flexible to adapt sudden increase in working hours as per business needs
1.29 Maintain order, cleanliness and good cheer in his area of work. Organizes own time and set up priorities ensuring maximum use of working day
2. General Responsibilities

2.1 To promote efficiency, confidence, courtesy and an extremely high standard of social skills.
2.2 To generally promote and ensure good inter-departmental relations.
2.3 To display a pleasant manner and positive attitude at all times and to promote a good company image to guests and colleagues.

2.5 To adhere to Company and Hotel rules and regulations at all times.

3. Occasional Responsibilities

3.1 To report any equipment failures/problems to the Maintenance Department.
3.2 Pass any maintenance requests to the Maintenance Department.
3.3 To participate in any Training/Developments schemes as recommended by senior management.
3.4 To assist the Duty Manager in any task outlined/detailed by him/her.
3.5 To comply with any reasonable request made by management to the best of your ability.

4. Legal Responsibilities

4.1 To ensure that the standards required by Law and by Management are maintained at all times in the areas specified above.
