As VP Travel Finance for dnata you'll have the opportunity to perform the role of a catalyst to drive change and continuous improvement. You'll be influencing, challenging the status quo and providing financial solutions, to agree with divisional heads on implementation priorities and their execution whilst ensuring improvement to the divisional bottom line.

Job Outline:

• Based on the Group vision, direct and implement a strategic business/long term plan, including to target accelerated growth and / or align departmental growth to fleet growth and network expansion (as applicable), thereby providing a reliable base to formulate financial strategies and investment requirements. Provide regular updates to the Divisional Heads, influencing ambitious and yet achievable financial targets.

• Plan, direct and manage the annual financial planning process to meet the corporate and business specific goals set by the executive management, aligning with the rolling three year plan.

• Define, develop and implement a framework that provides rolling three year forecasts for the large divisions, challenging the requirements and validating the assumptions used on timing and agreeing on a strategy for funding needs at optimal cost.

• Define and implement a framework for corporate governance and commitment controls through appropriate work-flow processes, ensuring minimisation of financial exposure by identifying risk factors and modelling controlled self-risk assessments for all divisions that are reviewed on a half-yearly basis (testing for its effectiveness in a changing environment). For dnata Finance, this includes ensuring local implementation of the dnata / corporate governance framework and leading collaboration with Group Finance teams.

• Manage structured monthly reporting and feedback mechanisms to EVPs and DSVPs on business performances through face to face discussions, new business venture proposals that are reviewed and tracked to timelines, and financial results and performance. Ensure that all material deviations, unforeseen obstacles, inaction and incorrect decisions are highlighted in a timely manner, influencing corrective action.

• Provide decision analysis using appropriate analytical tools and models on life cycle cost/benefits for strategic initiatives that have long term financial impact, partner the business and procurement team in identifying significant cost exposure areas which require negotiation (high value contracts, warranties and credits) so as to meet the acceptable financial returns that meet the benchmark set by DVP MA / DVP dnata Finance.

• Direct, manage and conduct commercial due-diligence and deliver financial expertise to facilitate evaluation, decision support and implementation of external acquisitions, joint ventures and partnership proposals and capital intensive projects. Work closely with the business, Legal, Insurance, Corporate Finance, Treasury and other key stakeholders, providing executive summary recommendations to President / divisional heads, covering potential opportunities and risks while ensuring compliance with corporate governance and best practice. Participate in the board meetings and escalate issues / concerns with recommendations for corrective action.

• Partner with the business in discussions with external stakeholders such as aircraft manufacturers, banks, suppliers, customers, IATA forums, industry senior managers, auditors and legal consultants to optimise financial business performance and ensure best practices are followed.

• Ensure improvement of financial awareness within businesses and Finance teams through continuous learning sessions and involvement in the development of appropriate eLearning tools.

• Mentor and coach employees either directly or indirectly, including UAE Nationals and large remote workforces (where applicable), in order to develop their skills and experience. Contribute to the development of leadership capabilities and a pipeline of future leaders within the Group.

• Responsible for the full aspects of subsidiary financial reporting and controls, including statutory reporting and transactional processing.

Finance & Insurance. Accounts : 12+ Years Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) : Degree in a relevant financial discipline, a post graduate qualification is preferred.

The job requires knowledge equivalent to a full professional finance qualification, with generalist high-level skills and the ability to lead a small team of highly skilled and qualified team of individuals.

The post holder would normally have achieved finance experience in a range of business areas, with experience at senior levels in a large air transportation company or multi-national organisation.
