The Role:
As Technical Operations Supervisor, your role will be to supervise both technically and operationally the Technology Support team to ensure that the performance obligations of in-house IT systems are met. You will monitor and provide administrative support for the organisation's IT systems. This includes gathering and analysing data in support of systems management, maintenance, and performance.
The Technical Operations Supervisor is also responsible for generating and compiling reports based on their findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve malfunctions and make the appropriate recommendations in order to maximise the benefit of IT systems investments.
Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

•Running, operating and maintaining the servers and their associated operating systems and software (including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems)
•Running, operating and maintaining the network and telephony hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, and UPSs
•Ensuring network and SAN connectivity of all Data Centre or NOC based IT systems
•Supervising the 24x7 shift and operational support teams in performing their duties to meet Alshaya IT standards and operational efficiencies and effectiveness KPIs and targets
•Practicing asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information
•Administering and maintaining user accounts, permissions, and access rights
•Performing system and security audits
•Performing system backups and recovery
•Monitoring and testing systems performance and providing performance statistics and reports
•Scheduling and performing network improvements, upgrades, and repairs
•Creating and updating systems documentation and standard operating procedures
•Overseeing installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, networking and peripheral devices into the Data Centres and NOC rooms
•Negotiating with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services Qualifications & Requirements:
You will have:

•A University degree in the field of computer science/engineering or information systems
•Certification in at least 1 mainstream platform including Microsoft technologies, Network and Switching, Security, Unix/Linux technologies, Voice/Telephony technologies
•At least 8 Years work experience, including experience supervising operational IT support teams
•Working technical knowledge of IT systems and IT fundamentals including the OSI reference model
•Hands-on troubleshooting experience.
