GENERAL / TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

•Collect, sort, check, record and pack dirty linen / towels for outside laundry service.
•Understand the usage and care for all Laundry chemical and equipment.
•Greets all guests with eye contact and genuine smile.
•Is completely familiar with all duties and carries out the policies and procedures established by Shangri La Hotels and Resorts.  
ADMINISTRATION

•Co-ordinate with inventories of linens and towels as per established procedures.
•Recording of all dirty and clean linen / towels movement from Centre Laundry.  
OPERATIONAL PROCESSES

•Ensure all equipment and trolleys are in good working condition at the start of the shift.
•To collect, sort, record and pack dirty / soiled linen and towels as per standard operation procedures.
•To ensure heavy stain items are properly segregated.
•Reports damage / misuse or loss of linens to the Assistant Housekeeper.
•To receive, count, check and record clean linens and towels return by Centre Laundry.
•Ensure linens and rewash linens have been returned promptly by Centre Laundry.
•Help to pack and deliver linens / towels as and when needed in the hotel operation.
•Advises the Assistant Housekeeper regarding shortage of linen in circulation due to loss or other circumstances.
•Ensure the Linen & Laundry Room cleanliness.
•Attends multi-skilling training in all different sections of Room / Laundry / Linen / Uniform to maximize work performance and productivity.
•Assumes other duties as assigned as needed in the hotel operation.  
SAFETY AND SECURITY

•Is familiar and involved with care of equipment and reports damages or maintenance problems to designated persons.
•Is aware of all hotel emergency and safety procedures.
•In all incidents, provides Management with concise reports and takes action to avoid repetition of any incidents, accidents and complaints of similar nature.
•Ensures maximum safety of guests and employees during emergencies
•Is thoroughly familiar with available emergency services and the fastest way of obtaining them.
•Ensures that all security policies and procedures are observed in the department.  
ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS

•Always conduct your job with concern for the environment and its resources; where practical and possible, reduce use of items, waste and re-cycle items.
•Always conscious of energy conservation.
•Takes care in handling of equipment, tools and other hotel properties.
