Silverado Resort and Spa is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director of Revenue Management. The Director of Revenue Management has responsibility for all aspects of revenue management for Silverado Resort and Spa based on established brand best practices. The DORM Position reports to the property General Manager and is an Executive Committee Member. He/She will work closely with the leadership of the property to analyze historical and forecasted performance, develop pricing strategies, monitor and manage rates and inventory, maintain pricing and distribution systems, measure and track performance of strategies, summarize and communicate progress to property and regional leadership.


(30%) Develop property specific strategies and tactics to maximize revenues by performing the necessary analysis including but not limited to the following:

- Historical demand analysis
- Forecasted demand
- Current production
- Price-Value comparison
- STR comp set analysis
- Business mix analysis
- Demand/blackout date calendar
- Assist and develop annual room revenue budgets by market segments along with property and brand leadership
- Key Client: Property Leadership

(25%) Monitor and manage rates and inventory to ensure the property is properly priced in the market by day including but not limited to:

- Rate structure/tier pricing by season
- Channel parity / availability
- Competitive pricing analysis
- Group displacement analysis
- Manage availability of rates/rate tiers
- Manage inventory restrictions (MLOS)
- Key Client: Property Leadership

(15%) Financial Acumen:

- Must be able to complete a both weekly and monthly forecasts and be within 5% accuracy
- Assist and develop rolling 30-60-90 day room revenue forecasts
- Must have prior knowledge in budgeting both Rooms Revenue and Banquets and Catering Revenue

(20%) Tracks and communicates the effectiveness of defined strategies and tactics making recommendations for on-going adjustments:

- Quarterly Strategic Committee Summary
- Month end calls
- Weekly tracking / status reports
- Daily / Weekly Revenue Meetings
- Key Client: Property Leadership, Brand Leadership

(10%) Conducts property visits to assigned hotels as needed to implement global policies/programs and train hotels on tools

a) Decision Making - makes recommendations that affect revenue of a property, obtains buy in from property on a weekly basis but not for every specific decision.

b) Autonomy - works closely with revenue management leaders and property leaders on progress and outcomes. Daily interaction.

c) Impact - very high, affect the revenue of multiple properties as decisions are implemented

d) Supervisory - has to manage their own workload and give direction and follow up to peers in related departments.

Scope/Financial Responsibility

Decisions made by a DRM affect the revenue of a property greatly. Positive results will be visible as top line revenue growth and also by growing or sustaining market share vs. cumulative hotel comp set. Proper forecasting and strategy analysis is key to projections.


Skills and Experience:

- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Hotel Management, Business, Statistics, Marketing, Finance, Sales or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- 3-5 years of progressive work-related experience in hotel revenue management, yield management or sales.
- Demonstrated proficiency in distribution channel management, Hotel PMS / CRS, Revenue Management Systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge and experience in hotel pricing concepts, yield management optimization and selling strategies.
- Analytical - ability to review numbers and draw quick conclusion about past and future trends from data.
- Hotel Revenue Management - Thorough understanding of total hotel revenue management concepts, processes, and systems. Very good understanding of segmentation, optimum business mix, displacement and impact of segmentation sales on ancillary departments.
- Analytical - ability to review numbers and draw conclusions about past and future trends
- Hotel Revenue Management - familiarity with terminology in the industry and department
- Multi-tasking/Organization - ability to manage multiple activities in parallel with proper follow up on status. Ability to manage across various management levels; time management and prioritization of tasks is important.
- Ownership - ability to take the lead to track down and resolve issues, and knows when to escalate. Ability to operate efficiently with minimal direct supervision.
- Communication - ability to interact remotely, when needed, with the property and with brand resources at a fairly senior level.
- IT - needs to be comfortable with computer systems and electronic distribution channels.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
