SCOPE The Staff Accountant will support the Senior Accountant and Controller with all the accounting and reporting requirements related to the property management month end close process and Homeowner Association accounting and reporting. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assists in accounting and reporting support for all properties operating in the location; inform Controller and Sr. Accountant of any potential concern 2. Operate effectively in the Property Management program and related systems; execute accounting and reporting requirements, including timely and accurate completion of all assigned V12 procedures and processing of vendor and homeowner payments as necessary 3. Support the Homeowner Association month end close process, including reconciliations and account analysis. Prepare monthly HOA financial analysis and financial reports. Support the Controller and Sr. Accountant with preparation of related HOA board meeting presentations 4. Proactively work with the operating units to coordinate the Wyndham Accounts Payable process, and work closely with the Controller and Sr. Accountant on other reporting requirements to WVR Corporate 5. Engages with the Sr. Accountant to operating an effective internal control environment; prepares & compiles information for external & internal audits 6. Assist with continuous system and process improvement efforts and recommend and help execute solutions 7. Must communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner 8. Other projects as assigned.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & SKILL: 1. 3+ years of experience in accounting required; accounting degree or equal experience in the field is preferred 2. Good knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); including execution of monthly general ledger closings in a multi-site operation, and previous experience with working in an enterprise accounting software. 3. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; advanced MS Excel skills required. 4. Detail oriented with excellent time management capabilities coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to read/write/speak in English. 6. Strong interpersonal skills. REPORTS TO: Directly - Controller Indirectly - Senior Accountant
